How
can I revert back to my previous MS Access backend configuration after a
problem with the upgrade to the SQL back end
Solution:
Reverting back to MS Access after an Unsuccessfull Migration.
The
following example was migrated on Dec. 25, 2010.
Your
date/timestamp will vary.
Stop
the KnowledgeSync Windows Service
OR
Stop
the KnowledgeSync Desktop Service
Close
All KnowledgeSync modules i.e. Event Manager, Administrator or Event Monitor.
Check
the Task Manager for "All Users" and verify no KS_*.exe processes are
running.
If
any are running, end them immediately.
Got
to the following folder (yours may vary depending on the path of your
KnowledgeSync installation):
C:\Program
Files\Vineyardsoft\KnowledgeSync 2000\Data
Do
the following
Rename
KS_Object.mdb to KS_Object_SQL.mdb
Rename
KS_Inbox.mdb to KS_Inbox_SQL.mdb
Copy
KS_Triggered_PreMigration_201011225153415.mdb to KS_Triggered.mdb
Copy
KS_Changed_PreMigration_201011225153415.mdb to KS_Changed.mdb
Copy
KS_Inbox_PreMigration_201011225153415.mdb to KS_Inbox.mdb
Copy
KS_Object_PreMigration_201011225153415.mdb to KS_Object.mdb
By
following these procedures you will leave all Pre-Migration databases intact.
KS_Inbox_PreMigration_201011225153415.mdb
KS_Object_PreMigration_201011225153415.mdb
KS_Triggered_PreMigration_201011225153415.mdb
KS_Changed_PreMigration_201011225153415.mdb
We
will also have a backup of your current SQL databases:
KS_Object_SQL.mdb
KS_Inbox_SQL.mdb
Start
the KnowledgeSync Windows Service.
You
have now successfully reverted back to the KnowledgeSync MS Access Back-end.
