Monitoring the Status of the SalesLogix
Sync Server
Welcome to week #2 of the
KnowledgeSync Educational Bulletin for Business Partners
and clients who are using Sage KnowledgeSync with the
SalesLogix CRM application.
We invite partners to share this information with
KnowledgeSync clients, as well as to ask questions of
their own and submit their own ideas for critical or
inventive uses of the Sage KnowledgeSync application.
This week's question:
Is there a way to use KnowledgeSync to monitor the
status of the SalesLogix Sync Server? We've got a client
who not only wants to know if a remote user hasn't
synched within a certain amount of time, but also wants
to know if the sync server itself has stopped running.
Answer:
There is a way to do this; and we've created an EventPak
for just such a purpose. This EventPak does three
things:
1. Sends an alert if a SLX remote client has not synched
within the last 'x' days.
2. Checks to see if the sync server failed to complete
successfully the last time it ran.
3. Checks to see if the sync server has not run within
the last 'x' hours.
Vineyardsoft has packaged this functionality into a
pre-configured EventPak that is free to all SalesLogix
partners and clients. To receive this EventPak, just
send email to farber@vineyardsoft.com and ask for the "SLX
Sync Server Monitoring" EventPak.
Thank you for your support and promotion of the Sage
KnowledgeSync solution.
